Wellness in the Schools a Critical Issue and Passion Project for AETHOS’ David Mansbach: Joins WITS Board of Directors

August 26, 2019 - AETHOS Managing Director David Mansbach has announced that he has joined the board of directors of WITS, Wellness in the Schools. The national non-profit, whose vision is to end childhood obesity, teaches children healthy eating habits in order to “learn and live better.”

“I want to be a part of this movement, to help revolutionize school foods,” says Mansbach, and “seeing the passion of WITS’ Executive Director and Founder Nancy Easton, is inspirational. You don’t see that kind of passion in many people, like you do with Nancy.”

Over one-third of children under the age of 18 in the United States are overweight or obese. Children spend about 12,000 hours in school between kindergarten and high school graduation, making schools the ideal environment to share their wellness behaviour. WITS partners with public schools to provide nutrition and fitness education, healthy scratch-cooked meals and active recess periods. The approach improves student outcomes and drives systemic, long-term change, and shifting school cultures.

David Mansbach, CCP, is Managing Director of the New York office of AETHOS Consulting Group, housed in Garden City.
