Board Sports – How Can European Hotel Companies Improve Their Score?

Chris Mumford, Thomas Mielke | BOARD PERFORMANCE STUDIES, CORPORATE GOVERNANCE
As corporations have come under increased public scrutiny in the economic downturn so too have boards come under heightened pressure to govern in a responsible manner. Outrage over topics such as executive pay should be directed, less at the executives receiving windfall bonuses, and more at the board directors who set and approve remuneration packages in the first place. Scandals over topics such as pay show that, despite the huge advances made by most companies over the past few years, corporate governance remains a hot topic and worthy of analysis. We are pleased to present the results of the annual corporate governance study of European hotel companies and to congratulate Rezidor Hotel Group on achieving top spot. The full report was published in the October 2009 edition of Hotel Report. Read the complete findings here.
